How Tabao Us works.

What you get, how the moving parts fit together, and how to run your business from the manage dashboard. For step-by-step walkthroughs, watch the video tutorials.

Section 01

Getting started

Once we onboard your business, you get two links. The first is your customer-facing storefront at tabaous.com/{your-slug} where customers browse your menu, place orders, and pay. The second is your private manage dashboard at manage.tabaous.com/{your-code} where you run the business.

We hand you both during the in-person onboarding visit, along with your initial password. Change the password from Settings the first time you log in.

Section 03

Inventory and availability

Run out of an item? Mark it unavailable from the manage dashboard. The item stays on your menu but customers cannot order it. Toggle it back on the moment you restock.

Hiding an item is different. Hidden items disappear from the storefront entirely. Use it for seasonal items or anything you want to keep configured but not visible right now.

Section 04

Order management

A new order shows up on the Orders page the second a customer places it. You move it forward from there, and the customer gets a Telegram message at every step.

How an order arrives depends on your plan. On Automated Payments, Stripe has already taken the money, so the order lands paid and you can start cooking straight away. On Manual PayNow, the customer transfers to your own PayNow first, so the order waits under To confirm until you check it off.

  • To confirm (Manual PayNow only): the customer says they have paid. Check your bank app for a PayNow transfer that matches the order reference and amount, then tap Accept order to confirm it, or Reject order to cancel. Until you accept, the customer sees the order as verifying payment.
  • Paid: the order is confirmed and ready to prep. Open it to see the items and get started.
  • Pickup orders: mark the order Ready when it is packed, then Completed when the customer collects.
  • Delivery orders: mark the order On the way when it leaves, then Completed once it arrives.

Cancelling works differently per plan. On Automated Payments, a cancel triggers an automatic Stripe refund back to the customer's original payment method. On Manual PayNow the money never passed through us, so you refund the customer yourself with a PayNow transfer back.

Section 05

Payments and payouts

Tabao Us runs on two plans, and you pick the one that fits how you want to get paid. Manual PayNow is the default. Switch between them any time from the Billing page.

  • Manual PayNow ($7.90 a month, the default): customers pay straight to your own PayNow. At checkout they get a QR with your payee name, your UEN or mobile, the exact amount, and the order number as the reference. They scan, transfer, and the money lands in your bank instantly. You confirm each order by hand once you see it come in. Set your PayNow details during onboarding and change them any time in Settings.
  • Automated Payments ($12.90 a month): customers pay by card, GrabPay, or PayNow through your connected Stripe account. Stripe confirms every payment on its own, so orders arrive already paid, and cancelling refunds the customer in one click. Payouts settle to your linked Singapore bank account in SGD.

Both plans start with a 30-day free trial, and prices include 9% GST (Tabao Us is GST-registered, GST Reg No. 202611389H).

Section 06

Notifications

Owners get Telegram alerts for every new order, payment failure, and customer message. Link your Telegram account once from Settings, and the bot sends you a unique link to authorise.

Customers receive email confirmation when they pay (if they provided an email), and Telegram messages when their order is ready and when it is completed (if they linked their Telegram during checkout).

Section 07

Promo codes and loyalty

Promo codes can be a percentage discount or a flat dollar amount. Set an expiry date and a usage cap to control them. Customers enter the code at checkout.

The loyalty programme rewards customers with points per dollar spent. They redeem points for discounts on future orders. Configure the points-per-dollar ratio and the redemption rate in Settings.

Section 08

Opening hours

Set the days and times your storefront accepts orders. Outside business hours, customers see a closed banner and cannot check out. Update hours any time and changes take effect immediately.
